Place the suspects. Name the killer.
A murder mystery logic puzzle. Every case has one answer, and logic alone gets you there.
Smoke and Mirrors
Noir Detective, 4×4
Clues
- The Senator stood directly east of the long table.
- The Coroner was last seen in the Alley.
- The Coroner was exactly 3 steps from the coat rack.
- The Snitch was diagonally next to the Senator.
- The Boss is the victim. Only the killer shared the Boss's room.
One suspect per row and per column. Furniture blocks a square, except the stool.
Pick a suspect, then tap a square.
Case closed. The Coroner did it.
Only the Coroner was in the Alley with the Boss. The full game has 262 handmade cases like this, plus endless generated ones.
Three rules. No guessing.
- One suspect per row, one per column.
- Like a sudoku, every line of the grid holds exactly one person, so each placement rules out a whole row and column.
- Every clue is true at once.
- Clues tie suspects to rooms, furniture and each other. Rooms and furniture change in every world, and so does the way you reason about them.
- The victim was alone with the killer.
- When the grid is full, one person shares the victim's room. That is your murderer, and there is only ever one answer.

Questions

Is Riftdoku free?
Yes. The whole game is free to play. An ad plays when you leave a solved case, and you can turn ads off with a Remove ads purchase. Optional purchases only speed things up.
Will I ever have to guess?
No. Every case has exactly one solution, and each one is checked so you can reach it by logic alone. If you are stuck, a hint shows you the next deduction.
How big do the puzzles get?
Cases start on a 4×4 grid that takes a few minutes and grow to 14×14 boards that fill an evening.
Which languages does it support?
English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.
Is it on iPhone or Steam?
Not yet. Riftdoku launches on Android first, through Google Play.
What data does the game collect?
Nothing about you unless you opt in. Anonymous usage data is off until you turn it on. The privacy policy has the details.
